Danny was in a little play at school called the Three Piggy Opera. He played the big bad wolf and he did such a great job. It is so fun to see him come out of his shell and just enjoy himself.

The Science Fair

Danny and Kayla both wanted to participate in the Science Fair this year. Kayla did her project on baking cookies at different temps and time. Danny did his on what freezes the fastest. It was alot of work, but they both got 1st place medals and they had fun doing the projects!

Spring break

This year we took the kids to Las Vegas for spring break. We stayed at the Riviera, and had lots of fun. We took the kids to the Hoover Dam, went into different hotels, swam at our hotel and just enjoyed spending time together as a family.

Baseball and Soccer Season

We had a fun year this year having Danny play Baseball (he is now in machine pitch) and Jenna loves soccer. It makes the spring really busy but it is fun!

We got snow!

Right before the kids went back to school Kayla was hoping for snow so that could prolong her vacation for an extra day, well her wish came true and we got snow. The kids were already up getting ready for school, so instead of going to school they went out and played in the snow. We ended up making a snowman and Mr. and Mrs. potato heads... I think the kids had a fun cold wet great day!

Joe and I have now been married for 10 years yesterday! It is amazing how time flies when you are having fun! I feel very blessed to have such an amazing man in my life!

It was a fun and easy halloween this year... Joe was Charlie Brown, I was snoopy, Kayla was Alex from Wizards of Waverly place, Danny was Dracula and Jenna was a pink bunny.. I think they had a fun halloween!

We have done so much since I blogged last.... I really got out of the habit! I will come back and post and blog after the kids start school in just one more week. Kayla is going to be my big 3rd grader and Danny will be my big 1st grader! We have done some amazing things this summer and I will post them all soon!

Danny had to do a family project of decorating a turkey. We decided he should look an awful lot like Spiderman. I think he turned out cool, and Danny was so proud!

Joe's favorite holiday is Halloween so we usually try to dress up. This year we went with a bang. Joe was Jack Skellington, I was sally, Danny was Harry Potter, Kayla was a witch and Jenna was tinkerbell. I think we all looked great! Of course I am kind of bias! On friday we went to the schools harvest festival, many parents asked for pictures with their children ( I felt like I worked at Disneyland) and then on Saturday we went to the ward trunk or treat. The kids had a good time and got plenty of treats. On the whole I would say it was a successful Halloween!

Fall family trip

The first few days of Fall Break, we took the kids to Disneyland and stayed in the Marriot hotel. We had a great time, going on rides, seeing awesome characters and spending time in a fabulous hotel. I hope to do it again some day!

Jenna's first trip to the Dentist

Jenna went to the Dentist for the first time. She did awesome, she opened big and let the Dentist look at her teeth. She even got a Hannah Montana activity book. The best part she is cavity free!

One Sunday the kids found guitars, a drum and a microphone and created their own band. It was pretty hilarious because they didn't really play a song and it seemed that all they sung was made up! At least they had a good time and didn't fight during the concert!

I thought this was too cute not to post. Danny had received these googles for his birthday and we keep forget to get them out when they go swimming. Well before his bath tonight he decided he wanted to wear them in the bath tub. I could not resist taking a picture. The funniest part is that he could not use them, the water was so warm they kept fogging up the googles! He just cracks me up.

Danny received his first award at school on friday Sept. 18th. He looked pretty proud. I was so glad that I was there to take pictures. He was the teachers choice!

My gold medal

I ran my first 5K run on September 12. I was extremely nervous but thought I would give it my best shot. I ran faster than I have ever run and sure paid the sore price later. I came in first in my age category, finishing 6 overall. I was pretty happy and proud of such a accomplishment. I ran it in 26.01.

This year we decided to put Jenna in soccer and so far it has gone okay. There are days when she wants to play and there are times when she acts really shy. It is pretty cute to see her running around and kicking the ball.

This year Kayla is in Second grade and Danny is a big Kindergartner. I have only Jenna at home now. They were both really excited to go to school. And now that they have been in for a month they are doing really well!

My first baby has now become 7 years old! I can't believe how quickly the time flies! This year she got to go on a date with her dad for her birthday. He took her out to lunch, saw a movie and then he even took her to the mall. She loved having the one on one time with him. I think it will be a year she won't forget!

This year Joe's cousin Dan and his wife Amber invited us to go with them to spend some time in Las Vegas. We got a hotel room at the New York, New York and had a great time. We went to see Le Reve (Cirque de soliel) show all done over water, I got to go to a day spa with Amber, we ate at great restaurants: Ruths Chris, top of the world, ( we even at at Bobby Flay's from Iron chef restaurant, the food was fantastic) and just relaxed. It was fun spending time together as a couple, and with family. I look forward to doing it again some day.

Sisters weekend

Every other year, my family, sisters and my mom get together and spend time together with out the kids and husbands. This year we had a great time going out to eat, and just having fun. We went to Pageant of the masters in Laguna, the sawdust festival, saw Harry Potter and went to a Angel game. It was so fun chatting and just being together. I didn't sleep enough that it took me a long time to recover. I sure look forward to that next year!

The funniest part was that our seats at the angel game were behind the homeplate but we were the very last row on the top and we still had a great time watching the game and fireworks!

Mavericks Game

Joe won our family tickets to go and see that Mavericks play (our minor league team in the high desert). The kids had a great time eating peanuts and popcorn. At the end of the game they even got to run the bases. We enjoyed ourselves!

Yes! Miracles do happen! Last Tuesday I ask Jenna if she wanted to be naked or wear panties. She said panties. It has almost been a week and I think I have a potty trained girl! I am so excited to not have to use diapers anymore I want to do the happy dance. She even likes to go by herself! It is a total milestone to have my last child out of diapers what a magical thing!

Happy 4th of July

This year we went down to my parents for the 4th of July. We got there on the 3rd and spent two days with family. It was a lot of fun with swimming, good food, seeing family and enjoying a amazing fireworks show. For the last two years we have gone to Bonita high school (it is in Laverne) fireworks show. They have a band play and everyone hangs out, dances, and just enjoys the atmosphere. It is like a big tailgate party. This year was no different, in fact, most of my family came. All but two siblings came to enjoy the time. It was great! We had a lot of fun!

Camping at the beach

We went camping at the beach a second year in a row with my sisters family and the Wheelers. The sad part was Joe did not get to join us because of work. We still had a great time building in the sand, having fun campfires and hanging out with family and friends. I look forward to next year, I think this has become a tradition!

My sisters boys found alot of drift wood and made some pretty cool forts. They became the place to hang out when the kids needed naps!

I can't believe he is already 5 years old, time does fly, he will be starting school this year and I will have one at home, my son is growing up!

I took Danny to Disneyland on his birthday this year. Because we have annual passes, and disneyland is letting people in free on their birthdays, Annual pass holders get a gift card of the amount of a ticket into the park. Danny got a gift card of 59 dollars to spend on merchandise in the park. We had a great day, I brought a friend of his and we went on big rides and he got to buys some fun things with is card. Overall I think he had a great day!

It is that time of year again when Danny gets to play Tball! He has been so excited to play that he asked me every week after I signed him up if it was time to play. Joe is coaching his team they are the reds. Ty Johnson and Aaron Wheeler are on his team. It is somewhat chaotic but it is fun.

Joe was able to get clipper tickets cheap because he is a teacher. We we planned an evening with David (he is a teacher too) and Melissa and had a double date. It was really fun hanging out, eating peanuts, cheering and laughing. The clippers beat the kings by like 30 points.

We had a nice easter this year. My wonderful mother made my girls matching dresses and had enough fabric left over to make two purses and a cute bow tie for danny to wear. I think they all look so adorable!

My parents put numbers in eggs so the kids could pick prizes, this was hilarious, Jenna, Danny and Sydney (their cousin) picked these glasses, I just love it!

Kayla had a great time with her favorite cousin Allie!

Danny loved hanging out with his favorite cousin Wyatt, who he calls Tush Tush! In fact, they get to spend time with these cousins when Joe and I go to the temple. When Danny hears this every day his prayer is thanking Heavenly father for letting him go to Wyatt's house, I think it is just adorable!

The timeshare!

During this spring break we were able to go and spend time at a timeshare in Anaheim. We went to Disneyland on the Thursday and then we went into Long Beach on the Friday (April 2,3). We had a great time, the kids love staying in a resort hotel, with a heated pool and spa. We had fun at the different places spending time together as a family and relaxing. I love vacations like this.

Days at Disneyland with Grandparents!

Joe's parents came down from Oregon to visit different family members and stopped into spend time with us before they made their way back to Oregon. We spent one day at Disneyland with them. We had a great time going on rides and just relaxing. Danny did not want to ride with anyone but Grandpa the whole day, they became official ride riding partners.

I was just thinking about this time in my life and how blessed I really am. I am grateful for my husband, he is such an amazing man and my best friend. He keeps me grounded and tries to keep me from getting too stressed out. I love him very much. I am also grateful for my children, even though they keep me on my toes and if you know me I don't always have the most patience but I could not imagine my life with out them in it. One day we were at Disneyland and Danny wandered off and I thought I was going to die, it scared me so much. I realized how much I love him and am so glad that he is in my life. Next I am grateful that I am a member of the church, it sure helps keep me focused on what is really important and what is not. I am also grateful to all of my friends. They are the best! Whether they are close or far away they have all been such an amazing influence in my life and I would not be the person I am today without them. Finally I am grateful to my extended family and the way they are always there for me in my life. I could go on and on, but I won't. If you are reading this you probably fit into one of these categories and so I thank you! You mean everything to me!

Kayla is a star!

Today, Danny, Jenna and I went to see Kayla perform in a play at school. It was so great. The play was the 3 Nanny Goats Gruff and Kayla played the troll. She sang solo's had parts that she did and performed to her best. It was one of those proud moments as a mother. She seemed to have the most parts besides the narrator. I think this is her calling in life to be in drama, she has an amazing photographic memory and does not get stage fright. Last night before she went to bed she was afraid that she would not be able to sleep she was so excited for her play. I think that I am going to have to sign her up for plays.

My little Artist

She is an artist! Jenna loves to draw and color. She is very artistic for a two year old and will tell me what she is drawing and it sometimes will even look like what she is drawing. This picture is of two people. I love that she is doing things so well!

My sister gave me fun dress up clothes for my kids. Well, we get home and Jenna is all over the clothes. I think this combination of outfit is just gorgeous. Of course, then Danny had to get into the act, and since the only costume I have for boys is a Indian costume, well there he is!

February Snow!!

It actually snowed in February! We have had snow this year, but this is crazy. I asked Joe if we moved to the snow, not the desert. My dad asked if overnight apple valley was transported to Idaho. I guess it just goes along with friday the 13th, strange things happen!

This last Tuesday we went to the after school program at the library. They had a guy come in that brought many different kind of drums from different places, as far as Africa and Brazil. It was a really cool program, because at the end of the program the kids get to pick a drum and we all play music together. Now here comes the really cool part, the Daily Press (our local newspaper) was there and took pictures of Kayla and Danny. He asked me questions about them and told me they would probably be in the paper. Well, they made it in there and now Danny, (who is named in the caption) has been in the paper twice, he must be destined for greatness!

Kids say the funniest things!

I Just had to post some funny things that my kids have said. Sometimes I don't know where they hear it but it sure makes me laugh and enjoy being around them. One time we were at Disneyland and Danny looked at us and with his hands in a gun shape said, "Lookin good" We laughed and now it seems that it is a family saying. Jenna was helping me set the table and as she was putting on the plates said, "lookin good" Joe and I had another good chuckle. Jenna the other day, I had made raviolis for dinner and she came out of the kitchen and when I asked her if she ate them she said, "no, don't like them they are gross!" I thought that was so cute. Kayla once when we had decided not to renew our passes and do other things, (we let our kids decide), Kayla saw a commercial for Disneyland and she turned to Danny and said, "Danny I think we made the wrong choice!" It was hilarious. Although I do hear myself in many things Kayla says. She will turn to Danny and say, "stop talking to me your giving me a headache", Or stop annoying me. I get a kick out of my kids. Here is a couple last ones from Jenna, we were driving home from our trip to Oregon and she was crying because she did not get her way. We were just ignoring her until she would stop crying, all of a sudden she shouted, "I'm crying!" Joe and I started cracking up! She also acts like she should tell everyone that they need to be quiet for the prayer, during the prayer. Which means, she is talking and be disruptive also, but it is funny to hear, "shhh it is prayer, be quiet." I love my kids they are very fun and keep me smiling!

Kayla lost her first tooth!

What an exciting time for Kayla, finally after turning 61/2 and seeing friends much younger than her lose teeth she has lost one! What a miracle it is. She even pulled the tooth out herself! We were so proud and excited. Oh no, another sign that she is growing up and is no longer my baby.

My Anniversary

Joe and I have been married for 8 fabulous years this year and we actually went away. We got to stay in a timeshare in Anaheim. We had a blast! We went to Disneyland for two days by ourselves. We actually got to ride all the big rides together. I can't even remember the last time we did that, definitely before kids. We had fun, sleeping in and sleeping the whole night through. We even went in the hot tub without having to blow up any floaties. It was a great time to reconnect with my husband and spend some time together!

Danny got glasses!

At the end of last year, Danny's right eye was crossing. We took him to the Doctor and got referred to a specialist. For two months he wore a patch for a couple of hours a day, and yet it did not help his eyes. At his last appointment the doctor told us that Danny is far sighted and so his eye crosses when he is up close and is trying to focus. So here comes the part when he gets glasses. We went and he picked them out, (Spongebob glasses) and I think he looks really cute. He has been very good about wearing them and so I hope that this transition continues to go as smoothly as it has.

We arrived home on New Years eve, and went to a party at our friends house. We played games at some great food, and toasted the new year. The kids had a great time with their friends and being able to stay up so late. All of our kids actually stayed awake until we went home after midnight.

Daddy's Neighborhood

On the way home from our trip, we stopped in the area where Joe grew up. We went back to his old house and the owner let us take pictures.

We went to a country store Joe went with his Grandpa, and we even went to the Elementary school that he went to. It was fun showing the kids where their dad grew up.

Merry Christmas!

Sorry this has taken so long to post. We had a great time in Oregon for christmas, it wasn't white but it was definetely cold. It was nice to spend it with Joe's parents, it was definetely less crazy than it is at my parents house. On Christmas Eve we went to the Thomas's (friends of Joes parents) and had a great time dressing up the kids and letting them do the christmas story, they all looked really good dressed up in the outfits. We hope everyone had a nice Holiday!

On Christmas morning the kids had a great time opening presents. Danny kept saying,"I got so much stuff!" It was fun to see their faces and see the joy of the holidays through them.

This year for christmas, Joe and I decided to not get anything for each other, it did not stop Joe from getting Coal in his stocking! (Yes it is Chocolate, but it was very cute, called Santa's coal!

Tillamook Cheese Factory!

While were in Oregon, we visited the Cheese factory a few times enjoying the samples of cheese, eating Ice cream and watching the workers package the cheese. It was a yummy good time!

They had these cows with christmas hats on the kids loved them!

Jenna and Danny loved watching the workers, Jenna even had them waving and smiling at her, she said, "their waving" and then she would wave back. It was very cute!

We all loved eating the ice cream, it was delicious. Jenna love bubblegum (well, its pink), Kayla love Rootbeer float, Danny loved anything chocolate, Joe love peppermint candy, and I loved German Chocolate cake icecream. Such amazing yummy flavors to eat. It is good we don't live close I would have ice cream for breakfast, lunch and probably dinner. I guess I would skip dessert :)

Off to Oregon!

We went to Oregon to visit Joe's parents for Christmas this year! It was very cold and wet while were were there, but we had some great times. We went to the beach on the only non raining day and fed the birds, chase the birds and took pictures of the birds. It was fun!

Jenna loved just chasing the birds and she did not want her picture taken. She was not a fan of holding the bread!

Danny and Kayla both had a great time feeding the birds, we were all very cold but it was nice to be outside without it raining. The Oregon coast is really beautiful!

Kayla got an award

I know that I am a little out of order on my posts but so much has happened and I am just going to try to get them all on the blog. I think in November Kayla got an award for being a great reader and having perfect attendance. I was very proud of her of these accomplishments. She is reading very well, almost 3rd grade. I love reading with her and seeing her growth!

Yes it snowed in Apple Valley!

We had a crazy snow storm right before we went out of town! Kayla got out of school early and the kids had a great time playing in the snow! It was really cold outside but it sure made things look beautiful!

Joe and the kids went on a sled, ate snow and made snow angels. It didn't last very long, for they all got really cold really fast!

Here were the kids with Joey and Aaron Wheeler making a sad looking snowman,(yes I helped, probably why it looks so sad) It had arms out of utensils and a sucker for a nose. I think the kids liked him anyway.

I thought our tree looked so pretty with all of the snow on it! I also loved the rose with the Icicles the next morning, it looked amazing!

We have gone on a trip to Oregon to visit Joe's parents for christmas. I will have pictures to post and fun memories to share, so just stay tuned. We did have a mishap occur while on our way. We got stuck in the snow. With a little prayer and much faith someone came along and helped dig us out! So for just a minute, (alright more than a minute) we were saved and on our way again. Yes we made it here in Tillamook. So have a merry christmas and coming soon more fun pictures from the Cranston family!

My quirks!

I finally was able to sit down and look at friends blogs, I was tagged to name some of my quirks. I am sure I can come up with a few, I mean I know I am weird in my own right.

1. I can't go to bed with out flossing my teeth. I feel they are just dirty until I get all the junk out.

2. I have to be in control of mostly anything. Like I am afraid if I don't do it it will not get done. (you know packing for trips, dressing the kids appropriately, I mean Joe doesn't always make them match (stripes and polka dots do not go together

3. I am an organizer freak!!I would love to go on one of those shows and throw other peoples stuff away. I don't keep any of my own stuff, in fact Joe said that one of these days I am going to get rid of him. I told him, there is no way, I still need him! No seriously, nothing is very sentimental to me. (I know sad, right?)

I can't think of anymore, but I know they are there. Now I tag Stephanie, Kim, Van, Melissa and Becky!

Disney in December

We went to Disneyland in December to celebrate Joe's birthday. We took Kayla out of school for the occasion. The weather was still nice that Joe took Kayla and Danny on Grizzly Rapids and they ended up getting soaked. We also got a ice cream cone which everyone devoured and it shows on their faces. We went on many rides, Jenna loved seeing the little cardboard cut out of Walle at the park. The best thing was that Jenna got to ride on Matterhorn for the first time. She wasn't even scared. At the end of the ride she said, "I saw a monster, now lets go on the teacups." We had a great time and the park looked so very festive!

We decided to have family night on Sunday, so we could decorate for Christmas! The kids really loved putting on the ornaments and wearing the santa hats. It was a crazy time but we had fun making the house really festive!

I forgot to post this. I have been in a book club for almost three years (it has gone by fast). My book club read a book called the Princess Academy, and so to celebrate this book we had a princess party. The host Valerie even rolled out the red carpet! It was great time, and it was fun dressing up!

We spent the day at my parents house in Southern California! We hung out, watched football, played with cousins and ate some good turkey! Yum Yum! Of Course there is so much that I am thankful for. I am thankful for my family, they are amazing people to be around, I could not ask for better parents. Second I am thankful for my children and that I get to spend so much time with them. Third, I am the luckiest woman alive to have such an amazing husband. Fourth, I have the gospel and know that Jesus is my savior. sixth, I have amazing friends and I count my blessings that they are in my life. I just love this time of year, because I get to remember how I am truly blessed!

Kayla has done some really cute things at school in the month of November. She made this really cute turkey, I love it. She also sang some songs at school. It was fun going to see her in her pilgrim hat and hear some fun songs.

This year we had fun carving pumpkins. Kayla wanted a raccoon in a pumpkin, I did a witch stirring a pot, and Joe did a house with the phrase Happy Halloween. We had a good time dressing up and going trick or treating. Joe was "Joe from blues clues", I was a pirate, Kayla was a kitty, Danny was spiderman, and Jenna was Poohbear. The kids got a ton of candy, in fact, they said they had enough candy and were ready to be done. Overall, I think they had a fun night.

The Pumpkin Patch

Every year we take the kids to the pumpkin patch. We have a great time, the kids love riding the ponies. Only this year it almost cost 20.00 for all three of them. We might make a new tradition next year. We love looking at all of the pumpkins, animals and the fun things in the covered area. We let the kids pick some really small pumpkins, and I bought a gourd to decorate. Overall we had a good time.

We love Jack Skellington, in fact Jenna is obsessed with the movie and the songs. Well just about everything that has to do with Jack. She loves this ride, she thinks it is so cool! I love that they are not afraid and think it is awesome.

It was really cool, the kids got free mouse ears as part of the year of a million dreams thing that Disneyland is doing. We all thought that was pretty cool.

We finally bought passes to Disneyland again after 2 years. The kids were so excited, we were able to go last Thursday for the first time. It was fun experiencing it through their eyes they had a great time!

Danny loved every minute of Disneyland, he even went on the big rides and thought they were so cool. After Space Mountain, he said, "That was cool, Mom I was in space!" You have gotta love their enthusiasm.

We got a barbie quad from my sister, and all it needed was a battery. Well since we got it our kids love going in the backyard and riding around on it. It is so cute to see and I am glad that we have it, it makes the backyard a little more fun!

3 Joys: 1. My children and to the fact that I think they are just really special!
2. The fact that I have a wonderful husband and know that he is a blessing in my life!
3. The joy of having a testimony of the gospel and feeling the spirit in my life

3 fears: 1. Losing any one of my children that would be devastating
2. Losing my husband, I would be lost

Beach trip at Refugio beach july/aug 2008

We spent a couple of days at the beach this year with family and friends. We wish we could have spent more but Kayla started school. We have a great time. The kids splashed in the water, caught a ton of sand crabs, buried Daddy in the sand and just enjoyed being outside and getting really dirty ! We plan on going next year to spent more time. The really nice thing was the beach was very close to our campsite and they had great clean bathrooms and showers! (mommy's favorite)

Kayla's Birthday

Kayla has been wanting a new piggy bank for a long time. this new pottery place opened recently by our house. I was able to order a horse bank and then she was able to go in and paint it. The cool thing is that she will have it the day before her birthday after they fire the ceramic. It was fun spenting time with her for something that was so special ! Iam still in utter shot that i actually will have a 6 year old. She is growing so big every moment.

Kayla's slumber party
We have a great time on Kayla's birthday ! She had a slumber party where the girls decorated frames, made necklaces and event decorated crowns. It was fun to see them interact together and enjoy being togerther. After they decorated their crowns we did a princess fashion show for the boys where they were introduced as a princess and they showed of their crowns and necklaces. It was fun. Kayla loved every minute of eating cake, to hanging with friends and cousins to opening presents. It was even fun to hear them giggling as they went to sleep in their sleeping bags.

You have to love a girls slumber party.

This summer we went to Lego land to spent time together as a family. We went with the Wheeler family. There was fun rides for the kids and we enjoyed the time with another family . Kayla loved the horse ride and the dragon roller coaster. Danny loved the everything and he went on everything. Janna loved eating candy and playing in the water park. I loved that my kids were happy to be there.
